I'd like to buy a nice 1921 Mexican Dos Pesos (Victoria) coin sometime in the next 3 months. I am going to try and wait for one that grabs me eye appeal wise. Can someone help me ballpark price these in conditions from Xf45 AU 55-58 thru ms 64-65 so I know what to look for in price when I do. Thanks.
$15 in XF and $100 in MS And yea I saw the title and thought...not a Coin type of thread I see. Then read it and was happy to help after all
Thanks. So $50-60 in AU? Whats the best place to track one down for 100 in MS, seems ebay is 200$ for MS, 100 for AU and 50 for XF.
I can't help you there. I just looked up the prices from a list I keep. My collection in these is just a dabbling and I pick them up when I like them and the price is right. If I come across one I'll let you know. BTW why a 21?
From what I read the 2 centavo is from 1905 to 1941 in Bronze 25mm and in 1915 there is a 20 mm bronze one for that year only. Again I'm not an expert at this type though.
lol opps...thought you were talking about centavo sorry!! The 2 peso is more expensive..who'd have guessed seeing it's sliver XF - $65 Unc - $425 BU - $650
No prob. Thanks for th updated prices. What would you estimate an AU should go for. I have found a decent one in the 150 range but it feels expensive.
That's a heck of a price jump from XF to Unc so an Au for 100 to 150 wouldn't be bad I'd say. As long as it's a nice one to the eyes.
Here's a nice AU one with light toning that no one seems to have noticed in the current Bowers & Merena auction... http://www.bowersandmerena.com/auctions/AuctionLot.aspx?LotID=67023 It pretty much has your name written all over it! (Bidding ends 6/18)
I'm pretty sure that's illegal, but if you really want one, I hear Arizona is trying to get rid of them.
Must say that I thought the same thing about the title when I first saw it yesterday too, but I refrained from comment, till now. Great looking coins though! MUMU: I hope when you get your new piece you will post pics of the coin back to this thread or something with a title naming the coin. Good luck in your quest... :smile
