Now normally I don't pay much attention to these quarters, but I got one in my hands with such shine and near perfect conditon that I had to bring it home and study further. I'm somewhat certain that it's somewhere in the MS65-69 range after comparing to PCGS graded quarter pictures but I can't put my finger on it. I just have a few questions: 1.Is there a list that I could find of prices on a 1990 D quarter in the full range of MS states? (searched for quite a while but couldn't find one.) 2. Would it be worth getting it PCGS graded? (How much would that cost on average to get a coin graded anyways? Because I have quite a few that need it done but haven't got around to driving it to a certified PCGS coin grader) I'd put pictures but my camera's battery is dead and I can't find the cord to charge it... So I'll just have to go off of what you guys say it's worth and determine if I should get it professionally graded.
It sounds as though you have obtained a prooflike or near prooflike 1990-D WQ. This might have been taken from a US Mint Set and spent. I write this because a certain percentage of the WQs from US Mint Sets of this period are prooflike or near prooflike. PCGS publishes a pricelist for coins in PCGS holders, but many of the prices are too high in my opinion. If you are not very good at grading modern clad coinage I would strongly suggest you enjoy the coin in a 2x2 holder or have someone who is fluent in grading these coins look at the coin for you. The reason for this is that the cost of certification and shipping may very well be far more than the value of the coin.
