Does anyone in the group have a source for Kennedy Half error coin values?

For example, I have a 1971 and 1972 broadstrikes (both XF-40), but don't know what they may be worth---or where to find information.

    Thanks!

Can you post images of the coins?

The reason that I ask is that many confuse the normal wider rims on the 1971 and 1972 Kennedys as errors.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,

Not at the moment---the coins are in a safe deposit box at the bank. There is no question about their being broadstrikes, however. One could even be an off center strike as a very tiny part of the legend is off the edge of the rim and the opposite side has a wide gap between the rim and legend. The other coin actually shows two rims on one side and no rim on the opposite side. This only appears on the obverse---the reverse of both coins are on center strikes.

Is there an online or book source for estimated values?

If it only occurs on one side of the coin it is not an off-center strike, but rather a misaligned die.

Broadstrikes are struck without the collar. So if your halfs are broadstruck they should not only be larger in diameter but will also not have reeding on the edge. Look at the edge for reeding.

Thanks. I've learned from a prior poster that they are actually MAD's. I wonder what they may be worth?
