I am not sure if its a token or what it was used for.It is blank on the back and is very thin.It reads Gold Medal Shoe 1891 Williams-Marvin co has a kangaroo and really hard to see trees on it. This should be fun. steve
I found a couple of references... may help a little: see lot # 505: http://www.holabirdamericana.com/americana2002/archive/auction15/textversion/nvchurch.html see lot #613: http://www.noble.com.au/auctions/catalogue/sale_85/A03.pdf
That's cool. Things like this were often used as tags and might have been tied to the shoe or the box.
Yeah,I could see that tied to a shoe box back in the day. Back then, they did things with some pride of workmanship. thanks for the input cladking....steve
very cool! I've seen this one on noble auctions. Australia has a large number of token collection, even they have tasmanian which are so rare. I like to have one of these old tokens, some of these companies still existe! cheers!
