i just got a '39 out of a roll too! it was in the same roll as the '27 buffalo.

    the roll was mostly '90's. but there were the '20 and '27 buffalo. and i kept 5 Jeffersons(not sure why). the '39, '49, '50, '66, '73-D, and '73-P.

i think i might starting a set of Jeffersons. they are not very expensive and feel they got nowhere to go but up. so if i don't get them in the near future i may be kicking myself, if the prices rise. other then the war nickels(still not a lot of money) the only other key is the 50-D?

o well, i won't ask questions in this thread, its not what it is for. i can do all the research i need, using the search.

i am going to go finally try the banks downtown tomorrow in search of halves. i hope i have some luck, i have $500, just waiting for some rolls! i will even open an account. i just wish the 6 banks in walking distance, had them.

anyone ever try them check cashing places like ace?? i know they take rolled change, and are basically like a bank with there debit cards...

I found all my Jeffersons in circulation except for the 1938 S that I bought a week ago to complete the album.

I have gotten boxes of pennies from check cashing places but they needed to order them in advance. So , like other financial institutions , you basically still need to establish some sort of relationship. By the way , the boxes I got from the check places were better than the those I got from BofA.

Went bank-hoppin saturday. About $300 in CWR and loose halves, got 3-40%'s. One bank I was at one teller went to the back to get some halves for me and the other teller asked me what kinds of coins I collect. I said basically anything, so she grabs some coins from her tray and said she's been waiting to give these to somebody. Turns out it was 4 silver quarters (43,59,63,64). Nice teller and not a bad purchase for a buck. Made those couple hours worthwhile.

Went through 3 coin jars at home, going to start looking through bank rolls again later this week.

Surprisingly in the 3 small change bowls at my house I found:

    1-1957 Wheat
    16 Coppers (1959-1981)
A couple of hole fillers for my cents/state quarters/nickels

    and

    a 1962 dime ! Haven't found a silver dime in well over a year :D

Went thru a $25 box of cents today...

    Box of $25 Cents today.

    found:
    16 Wheaties
    Oldest was a 1928

    6 Canadians
    Oldest was a 1957

Right now I'm more or less just stock piling Wheaties for Pennies and anything pre-1960 for Nickels. I will buy some Whitman books soon, and start filling in the slots!

Did you a favor and determined spot price for all of that...

$2,863.73 at a cost of $391.15. Not bad ROI, eh?

    Did $1k myself today, first box was ok, 3 40s and a '64, with a no FG and a DDO, plus a 2002, 2005 and 2006. Second box sucked with only a 2003 and a 2004.

Went to the bank today to get some cash for the boxes of half dollars that are coming tomorrow and they had 2 rolls of half dollars so I grabbed them. I found a 1966,1967, and a 1969 D not bad for a few minutes of searching.
