this era if not silver is very dark.......I will admit he through us off with it being toned, im guessing thats why he kept it

Awesome! Thanks so much for the contest. I did guess the dark one because I've seen several clad halves that are toned dark, kept a few of them. I wasn't sure if it was some sort of AT or what just naturally happens to some clad examples.
I like this contest. I am inspired to hold a contest in my family. I will place three half dollars on a neutral surface reverse side up and ask them to guess the metal content. I will use one 90% one 40% and one clad. I've got some mint condition of each.
