Here's what one seller wants; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...f9d0acc&itemid=170489408020&ff4=263602_263622
The silver dollars are likely either circulated or cleaned/polished, which is what I have seen in similar sets, and so I would value these as bullion. The stamps are worth face value or so.
The person or persons who put the sets together used the name of the organization, Postal Commemorative Society, to imply some connection with the USPS even though there is no relationship at all. When you subtract out the cost of the rest of the garbage, the seller's price per coin is about $30 when they are really worth about $15 each. There will be countless fools who actually fall for it. A fool and his money are soon parted! Chris
You cannot tell tone from an online post my friend. My tone was very chill in that post. All he needs to do is start his own thread, and more people can help him out or see his coin is all.
Aw bedad! Sure tis the clever fella ye are, us Irish find it hard to undermestand the joined up writin' May your good God be with your for yer kindness.:computer::hail::mouth::crying:
Your quite right! So, if you had said what you just told me and added "Please" and "Thank You", I would have let it slide. Unfortunately, not everyone is a mindreader, including me. Chris
Honestly, I'm not going to say I understand a word you just posted. But I will try and say what I said before, no need to hi-jack a thread with your coin that isn't even related to the thread itself. It's simple, start a new thread and be clear with your question or statement. That is a nice looking coin, wouldn't you want to post it in the rightful place so it will draw more attention?
Look fella I don't need money - I have this crappy coin which I thought someone mght like, i hadn't realised there were so many intellectuals in the USA . My abjact apologies for daring to enter your selective world and if this is the attitude of subscribers to CoinTalk - purleeeze count me out.
I learned how to speak "Irish" from watching the movie The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Of course, it also helped to attend the Patty's Day block parties at Matt Kane's Restaurant on 14th Street in D.C. back in the 60's. Chris
Sorry have this old coin and thought there might be a kid starting out in collecting who might have appreciated it - free gratis I hasten to add - however not over impressed by what I thought might be a fellow subscriber who left something of a very very bad taste in my mouth. Thank you for your courtesy.
Thanks for the support Chris and your welcome to the forum. I suppose it is the beauty of the Donegal hills here that make me forget not everyone is happy. Thanks again. Myles
Stick around! This really is a great place, and there are a lot of very knowledgeable people. Some of us can even tell jokes from time to time. Chris
