I got a 1969 Canadian quarter in change last night. It sounds like it might have some silver content but I'm not sure.
The 1969 Canadian quarter is 100% nickel. Some of the 1968's contained .500 silver .500 copper or 100% nickel. By 1969 it was all nickel.
I think the weight differs on the silver vs nickel canadian quarter, every once in a while a coin will be released on different year planchets, such as the 1943 copper cent, or a 1944 steelie, I have heard of a few stray silvers getting into the 1965 coinage, i I have not seen any of them. since I search cent rolls, I have been looking for a 1983 copper cent, I feel there must be some out there but so far no luck in finding one. I had a few 68 canadian quarters and I weighed them to see if they were silver, I am a little hesitant to do the drop test or striking the coin to hear the silver ring, because it would be too easy to make a rim ding on the coin.
