The kids at my wife's school brought in money for Relay for Life this week. She has four 1 gallon ziplock bags about 1/2 full. Should I stay up late and go through them just looking for silver and wheats? I got one of the new 2010 Sack dollars out already and 2 presidential dollars. Many of them brought jars of coins and just dumped them in. What do you think would you do it? She is going to take the money to the bank in the morning. Tim
Yea, its friday...get a case of beer and go nuts. But dont you have all weekend to get this accomplished?
I would go thru it. Since it's for a charity I would even pay fair market value for it and not face value. That's just me though.
I never pass up a chance to search change. Even when I help my kid wash his car I check his change in the tray lol.
My girlfriend always gets upset when I ask to see the coins when she's trying to make exact change lol. I'd definitely go through it.
that is weird you say that, i just checked my girls change purse tonight and she got all annoyed. i did find an 1981 penny that was toned yellow/blue/green, just in lincolns hair and around the word "god". sorta creepy, till you look at lincolns hair and it reminds you of a clown!
I just finished looking no silver and no wheats. I did find 2 Canadian quarters 1 dutch mark a 1 pound coin and 1 Canadian dime. I also finished putting all the state quarters in an album I gave to my 4 years old daughter. I could have put together a full set of circulated nickels minus the war nickles and key date I also discovered I need to get my reading glasses changed as it is really hard to read coin dates and MM so all was not lost. Just for the record I took $8.50 out and put a twenty in the pot it was worth the twenty to searce the coins
