Before wasting your money, Spend some time studying Wexlers site that will show how dies are made, the characteristics of true doubling, and how to spot worthless doubling. Looking for doubled dies is not a guessing game. It's about learning the die making processes. Are you seeing any split serifs? Any rounded wideing? Does the flat doubling tell you anything? It should www.doubleddie.com Bookmark and study it. Then study it some more. You obviously need better attribution skills before you claim new discoveries.
I showed and gave you that info in your last thread. Your photos ARE lacking the FULL SIZE option. Also why don't you add a link to the 5 Leg Buffalo.
Too much magnification! Use Loupe please. Your coin is a result of using a Microscope for coins~~ "Microscopitis"~~
Go back and edit out the dozen duplicate sets of pics. It's difficult and annoying trying to wade through that mess. You're soon going to be on a lot of ignore lists
sorry, I didnt realize iit did them all, I only took bout 7 newer photos and some how they all hooked up, so if your a smart guy, what do you think, is it possible its a new 5 legged discovery
What did you learn from reading the links provided? Did you see any split serifs? Do you know what they are and why they're important to identifying true doubled dies? Do you know the significance of flat shelf like doubling and how it relates to worthless mechanical doubling? Those are your answers. Let us know what you you think and why. Then we can help you learn.
It's too minor to tell. The coin is so worn that any other details and possibly markers are worn away. By the way here is the You tube and the 1930 5 legged Buffalo. It looks nothing like yours. RARE BUFFALO NICKEL WORTH MONEY-3 LEG BUFFALO VS 5 LEG BUFFALO!! COINS TO LOOK FOR!! - Bing video http://varietyvista.com/03 Buffalo Nickels/1930PDDR001.htm
heres the buffalo new 5 legged photos under my loup did you ask the experts on varietys or its your opinion
In post #28 @Oldhoopster asked you a very pertinent question. to which you have not answered but continue to question the opinions of some very experienced members. I doubt very much, based on this and your previous threads, that you understand the minting process and how dies are made, let alone the difference between genuine varieties and their machine made counterparts. Instead of continuing to play this for an answer you want, and if you think that you have a new variety, then send it to a TPG for attribution.
I've read all the posts in this thread. I've looked at all the pictures, and heaven help me there are A LOT of them, and even thrown in some self imposed paredolia to try real hard to see something, anything, that resembles a fifth leg. And for the life of me I cannot see one iota, or any semblance of the fifth leg @Salvatore Cucchiara is talking about. I'm sorry Salvatore I tried to see what you're seeing. It just isn't happening, at least for me. I'm all for sending it into one of the TPG's to attribute and confirm what you see. Please let us know how that turns out. Afterthought: how about drawing a circle around, or an arrow at this evasive 5th leg you see?
You can put the file into a program as simple as "Paint" or "LunaPic" and do it from there, save and post. Sounds difficult but very easy.
