    Hello,

I have had this coin since 1964. I am not a collector, but I would love to know some info on this coin. Someone from Coin Magazine said that they think that an object or a shaving of medal dropped on it before it was stamped. Ironically, the error is shaped like a bullet, which, we all know ended the life or Kennedy. Can anyone tell me what they think happened to this coin, and is it rare? Thank you for your time.

Kinda looks like struck through a tab one would put in a document for quick refrence.

If it had been a strikethrough, I don't think you would see the detail of the hair and ear as clearly as you do. It looks more like Post Mint Damage, and someone intentionally made it to resemble a bullet.

It could very well be a strike-through error and the foreign object could have been a thin piece of plastic. However, it could also be an acid-etched zone. Only close inspection under a microscope would provide an answer.
