1919-D/S wheat cent

Take a look at the photo's is that an s under the D??

I agree! I do not clean any coin.
but above the D there is a raised area that looks like a top of a s

 

If you put a little more attention there are some symbols under the D like a eigth, under to the right. And also above the D, reaching the end-south of the 9.
It's no a S. But there, "YES" there's something else.

 

Jello it's possible but I just can't tell from a computer screen.

 

It is just damage. Look at the scratch that runs along the top of the mintmark. The scratch is a long one and it distorted the mint mark.

gotta say im not so sure its not PMD. mind you i dont look at lincolns alot but i wouldnt say theres anything definitive there. whatever that maybe it is not an S.

green scratch. orange whatever else it is there.

 

I see what your talking about and there is always a slim chance of finding something new. I also see the scratch and there is a possibilty when the scratched occured enough metal was moved around to form a raised area. I'd put it in the questionable dept of your collection...

 

I'd put it in the no question about it section
It's damage that distorted the mint mark.

 

Die Clash o Secret Mark. But this little King appear in many different coins. And that is not a scratch.
