Well I was looking for something on eBay and there was none in the category I was looking at so ebay changed my search. I just about fell out my chair when I see these 3 coins. 3 of the same coin sold each 1 day apart!! Sold for $2649 Sold for $2475 Sold for $2325
Don't blame the seller on this one. They all started with a one cent starting bid. Three different people won the three.
Not even with funny money. And dig the shipping on the first one, $20 USPS? GMAFB! $4.95 fits it ships USPS.
I sorry but if I just paid over $2,000 on a coin I would sure want insurance!! You are also required on ebay if the item sells for more than $250.
Those prices are "insane in the membrane." I hope for the buyers that the bottom does not fall out of the MS70/PR70 market too soon. TC
Actually, just had an article in Coinworld about the crazy inflated prices specifically on the Delaware proof quarter... I didn't really it get it when I read that either, but apparently the pf70 grade is pretty rare on the Delaware, in particular... I would rather have $2500 worth of Cheetos personally...
FWIW, they are all below the PCGS price list ($4000) and the Numismedia price list ($3750). However, I did find this one. Maybe it will make those buyers feel better; http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=371&Lot_No=67529. Just in case someone missed that, it was a single "1999-S 25C Delaware Silver PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS" that went for $17,250.00 - but that is including the BP.
EVEN I'LL ADMIT, THAT'S CRAZY!!! Just can't accept huge price differentials for minuet, practically indiscernible, differences in grade. But, for all you nay sayers out there, when it comes to moderns, you have to admit, there's money in them.
What does it mean that prices like this are being realized during an economic disaster? What will happen if the economy recovers?
hahahahahaha them cheetos would go stale. at least you could always resell the quarter. i can not imagine why i would ever spend 2500 on a silver state quarter.
What is wrong with these buyers? Question? Do you think these three e-bayer companies are in cahoots with one another?
