well i think its silver proof?the side is all silver.but if its uncirculated strong struck circulated coin its def ms 65 or 66 it is flawless front back and sides
I was told there is an old trick that you can do that will tell you if it's silver or not (this was brought to my attention concerning silver proof quarters..not sure it will work here but thought i would share) Put a tissue paper over it and if the coin looks white through the tissue then it silver. I believe that if it looks gray, then it's clad.
Jesse: I don't see the mirror surfaces from your photos. Your coin looks like a very clean BU 40% silver 1976-S Ike. Compare some others on TeleTrade, they turn up there often: A B The higher MS grades (above MS66) usually fair well in significant realized prices, which you can track on TT as well. Proofs are readily available as well but the MS coins tend to go for more these days. Just generally speaking. Also a 65 or 66 coin is not without flaws, that's why it would grade a 65/66.
well i assure you there is not one micro scratch smudge anywere its a pure gem for sure.i will try the silver trick cause im confused.
krispy off the books i go to brooklyn a lot love it there i train at gleasons gym on dumbo good friends with yuri the champ there.and thanks for your info
I know the place, on Front Street. Spent a lot of time in dumbo myself over the years, not at the gym. :smile
The haze you see is actually an artifact of light bouncing back and forth between the mirrored fields and the plastic lens cover. This phenomena is most present on the reverse, and there are also particles of dust present which I was too lazy to remove. Otherwise, the coin is very well struck and would probably grade 68/69UCAM. Chris
Jesse, if you're going to expect anyone to take you seriously, you have to quit using adjectives like "shine" to describe your coins. Shine is for the sun and shoes. Chris
here we go again?take me serious?a lot of people on here do take me serious if you dont im not loosin any sleep over it.if you dont like the way i talk?im not asking you to comment?nice ike btw.
are you certified ?do you have a shop?store?or do you like to collect coins like the rest of us?why do you assume im ignorant when it comes to coins?because there was 1 or 2 im unsure of?
You're too thin-skinned. Don't be so defensive. Nowhere did I say or imply that you're ignorant. I'm only trying to help you. Chris
please listen and understand.this is to everyone.i like to collect coins.i have many and sold many.i have a lot of error coins some rare some not.i have a lot of expensive coins.and some cheap ones.im not trying to brag one way or the other.and if i appear thin skinned thats possible.maybe im just not used to being talked to that way?when your job consists of being a pugilist and xtra/small speaking roles actor im just used to some respect.maybe i will try to lighten up a tad
