I found 39 1883 liberty nickels - no cents version today. They range in condition from liberty being unreadable to almost a perfect looking coin. Wondering what I should do with these as I am not a collector and I would like to know what they are worth and where I should sell them. I can post pics if needed. Thanks

Yes you should really post some pics. At least that way you can get a better opinion.

Ball park speaking, each one is worth about $7 to $30, with a good average being around $15. If the coins have been washed, they lose a lot of their value, so don't clean them. If you have any mint state nickels, the price can be as much as $50 or $60.

I suggest going to a local coin shop and seeing what the proprietor will buy them for. You probably won't get the full value of the coins when you sell them to a coin shop, but it is an easy way to liquidate them. You should get about 80% or their full retail value upon selling. Over all, without seeing you coins, and just taking an average, I'm guessing you will get about $300-$500 for the lot.

Pictures would help, for the nicer looking coins. You are better off posting individual coins instead of a whole grouping. Just pick out 5-10 of the best looking ones and post pics...people here will help grade them and give you a good sale value.
