When the Canadian mint describe some of their issues as proof-like, they are not wrong. client gave me this today, I already have one but not with such a mirrored finish. 8.5 million circulating commemoratives struck in .800 Silver, 1.2 million of which are proof-like. Post any proof-likes you have, (i know @physics-fan3.14 enjoys these)
Well, I do like the prooflikes, that's for sure. Difference is, these were intentionally made as PL. The Canadians (and a few other countries, such as Russia, South Africa, and the UK) intentionally made these PL coins. Think of them kind of like the SMS coins that the US put out - somewhere in-between real proofs and regular circulation strikes. I vastly prefer the un-intentional prooflikes. The happy accidents. The ones that were intended to just be normal strikes, but came out PL. I don't tend to buy the intentionally made PLs, such as the Canadian stuff. Sorry I can't help here
I am always confused on these Canada issues. PL, specimen, proof, custom PL? The Krause Mischler catalog doesn't seem to help much either...
