http://cgi.ebay.com/1806-Draped-Bus...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2a072afcc2 My guess is the chances that this is real are about .001% I would sure like buy a nice old draped bust type half but try to find one at a fair price. anyway the poor picture, few sales by seller and no bids tells me this one is probably suspect. opinions? Lack
The pictures are too small to make any determination. However, an 1806 draped bust half in F condition is valued around $80.
I would walk through a blizzard or swim through the gulf oil spill to get a F 1806 bust half for twice that price!! Lack
I'm assuming that you can return a counterfeit or replica coin (misrepresentation or outright fraud?). What do the eBay rules say about that situation?
I was referring to the $80 value you said x 2=$160. Maybe I went a little overboard in my enthusiasm, but my point was that $80 seemed almost unbelievable to me. I would consider $200 to be a fair value, though I wouldn't be as excited over the purchase. Lack
LOL okay. But even thats high for a coin thats an F grade. You should ask the seller if they have larger pictures they can send you.
well, if it was not a fake someone got a heck of a deal in my opinion. I didn't have the guts to bid on it because I didn't trust its originality. From the small photo it looked like a decent coin at least Fine. I have bought a number of Bust halves on ebay and haven't had to return anything but I am really suspect of every purchase. If it doesn't seem right I don't bid. oh well Lack Lack
