Found a 1970-P penny with what looks like a doubled L in "LIBERTY". All comments are welcome =) http://www.photoshop.com/accounts/4...5e/px-assets/36f1efe10adf44c68dafaa105ce3b199 http://www.photoshop.com/accounts/4...5e/px-assets/8db4e42dfd95427bba66ac2cb44257fe
looks more like md then dd. http://www.coppercoins.com/diesearch.php?date=1970&date1=1970&page=2 has one going north to south not east to west. But to give an honest and true opinion you will need to blow that picture up. -shrek
I agree with shrek, unless we see a clearer or closer picture, we won't be able to tell. It could be Die Deterioration Doubling, Machine Doubling or Post Mint Damage
Either MD or it looks more like PMD to me. Post Mint Damage. Possibly just got hit/struck on the "L" causing the metal to bunch up.
After looking at this coin again i noticed doubling in the "I" in "LIBERTY" as well as the "L" ill try and get an image
