Purchases made at my City Auction

Guys, we have a City Auction every third Saturday of each month.this is the third one in a row that i have attended, here is what i won in the May 15 auction:
2 Dollar Federal Banknote dated 1928x2 Red Seal
2 Dollar Federal Banknote dated 1953 Red Seal
5 Walking Liberty Half Dollars (no key dates)
Whitman Mercury Head Dime Folder containing 17 Mercury Head Dimes, (no key dates as well)

How on earth did the City come upon coins?

 

it's a Estate sale, every third saturday of the month they auction of local estates. Most of the time they have coins at the auctions.
