These coins seem golden. They look very old (Roman?) and not very clear to read. One is real small - 15mm diameter. The other one is a little larger.
Can some say what they are? And if genuine (which I assume they are but have no proof of), what they may be worth?

Both are Byzantine. The first one appears to be a solidus of Justinian I, the second a tremissis of Maurice Tiberius. These are very widely counterfeited, can you tell us how you acquired them? The solidus would be worth $300-$400, and the tremissis around $150

I inherited them from my late grandmother who was a collector and part-time dealer. They are from her private collection.
Is there a way to determine their authenticity?

    Welcome to the forum.
Hopefully you will pick up the collecting bug!
Can you get the weight on them??
    Density would be even better.
Pictures are quite good. I assume they are scans. Color seems a bit washed out.

Google him - he has a web site and you can submit coins to him for authenication.

The weight would help. Although these are difficult to authenticate from images, I believe them to be genuine. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to submit these to NGC either, especially if you can get a good dea. (never thought I'd say that! lol)

Afraid all I got is the kitchen weight :)
The wee one is 15mm and ~1.5g
The bigger one is 20mm and ~4g
