Hi, Found this in some change. I'm pretty sure its a science project, but because of the lack of bubbles, I have to ask first before discarding. Also, the coin appears to have been spooned, and there are a few traced of a goldish/copper on the edges. Thanks.

Yeah, I figured it would be post mint... Out of curiosity though, is this how a coin looks after the ol school project I keep reading about? I weighed it and it weighs the same as a regular 2004 cent.
It looks very similar to the chemistry experiment after it has aged a little and the zinc coating reacts with environment. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1262456/make_a_gold_penny/ The weight would only be a couple of milligrams at most, so would be within normal weight IMO.
