Here's a Nova Eborac on ebay. It's one thing that the specimen is in an SEG slab, but the "grocery-store" price-tag takes the cake! If anyone is wondering, it's a ground find, and IMO $400 is way over the top! http://cgi.ebay.com/1787-NOVA-EBORAC-COIN-F-12-PRE-FEDERAL-POST-COLONIAL-/230475117058?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35a9633202
Well - I have seen several of them put stickers on the coin and I hope most people ignore them. At least I do.
I always ignore price stickers on coins on eBay. Frankly I think the F-12 they have on that must be a net grade because that coin has a lot more detail than a Fine. Yes it's rough but I would be interested in it if it wasn't in a slab. But it is so I pass.
they must have been some pretty expensive beans then... I agree, $ 400 for a ground find Eborac is too much. My ANACS VF30 (with as-made planchet defect - but otherwise good surfaces) cost about that much, and I thought that was too high.
I would imagine that most folks here have already read these... Here are a few links that pertain to SEGS: PNG & ICTA TPG Survey Coin Grading Service Rankings
