Hi Eduard, thanks for the comments, I have the dollar tagged as a BB-21, not sure if that is the same as the Bolender-1, but it is not a scarce variety.
Dont have a pic but I found an VF/XF 1888 Indian head cent in a roll yesterday. Full liberty and full featherlines!
My 2 cents Here are my 2 oldest, both from 1804 Also, can someone tell me which of the many varities of the half cent this is?
Here is another early coin: Washington Small Eagle cent, dated 1791. I believe these were minted in the UK though.
Both are beauties. I almost played foot in mouth, though as I thought the leaf under O on the second coin was either a fake or new die variety. Then I noticed it said HALF instead of ONE. Silly me.
I was going to say. Yes, gbroke's 1804 L1C is pretty, and a scarce coin too. The picture is not too clear, but it seems to be die state a or b, much scarcer than die state c (rim cuds on both obverse and reverse).
Here is an 1804 L1C, die state C with rim cuds on both sides. Different die state than gbroke's coin.
Thanks, this has been in my family since 1804. I really need to send it to get graded, but I have never sent a coin, and I am nervous as all heck.
WOW really in your family since 1804? how do you know did your great great great grandpa tell you or something =) nice coin
lol, John Edward told me. Actually my Dad is a real nut for geneology, in addition to his interest in coins, he somehow knew that. I know for sure its been in our family since he gave it to me 4 months ago.
