Pictures are a little bright to see the true beauty of the toning in my opinion. I love toned peace dollars, although there aren't near as many as compared to toned morgans! Just wait to Lehigh sees this thread, and posts some of his beauties!
Hmm..might be a monitor setting difference. Looks pretty accurate on mine. Here's more toned peacey goodness.
Alrighty, set my monitor brightness way up! The photos look ok, but still could be better. Now that second coin is beautiful, as well as the photo.
My pictures are far from good, I'm not arguing that part. I am just getting into photography of coins and I dont have good lighting. I was just curious about the shot being too bright as I thought that part I got right. WHich is odd that you turned your brightness up to adjust for it. The 2nd picture is not mine and probably why you think its better. It is from the seller I bought the coin from(well twice removed long story).
The picture was bright, making the screen brightness brighter might have balanced it out. Your photos are good man, don't sweat it, not hating on your photos at all. That last coin you posted is great, better photo than the first two in my opinion. Are any of these Peace Dollars graded?
No offense taken. Pics 1 and 3 are both mine, #2 the seller. In order: NGC 64 (Previous gen holder) NGC 64 (OFH) PCGS 63 (OGH)
Yeah I could tell lol So do you want to keep the labels off of the photos? I have mine like this. http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/tt136/tmoneyagles_coins/1943-DMS67FS.jpg Photos courtesy of Todd Pollack Editing: Myself. Once again nice coins
I havent decided yet. I might either do what you have, which means more pictures of the slabs. Or what picture #2 has, that tempalte. Just lazy and using the black background for now.
I had a gorgeously obverse toned Peace get lost in the mail this past week. It was deemed articially toned by IGC but they are morons. There was a shot it was AT but I didnt care it was beautiful. Downside was the reverse was ugly and black, possibly from whatever AT'd it. Still hoping it shows up. If it does I'll add it to this thread.
Cole that is a great piece. Lady Liberty looks like shes wearing one of those feather eye masks that aristocrats used to wear to balls. I dig it. Whats the grade, 66?
Better late than never to this thread. I have a bunch of toned Peace Dollars but this one is by far the most impressive. A reverse holdered Peace Dollar, don't see that much.
