1955 Odd metal penny

    I have a 1955 Penny but its rely odd it has a weird shiny soft goldish looking metal tone almost like white gold i cant explain it ill try to get photos up maybe a experimental metal

    2 possibilities,mercury coated,or plated.doesnt look like anything valuable,we have seen alot of these posted in various years.sorry

    its fine but there are dents in the back but no copper underneath almost like the metal is solid

    those dents could have been there before it was plated (if it was). Can you weigh it? it should weigh 3.11 grams of near there.

    Yeah its about 3.10

    Looks like the ones we used to chrome plate in Auto Shop. I will post a pic of one, as soon as I can find it.

    It's plated:) It's a form of post mint damage.
