Just got off the phone with my little brother Norman down in Texas wishing him a Happy Turkey Day and he informed me he picked up a 1909-s VDB when he was in Houston earlier this week mixing pleasure with business. I can't believe it, that rascal beat me to the goal we've both had in almost 40 years of collecting. He got a 09-S VDB before me. Norm said it was in VF condition and he paid $600 for it. He got it at a Brick & Mortar shop. He didn't tell me how his wife took the GREAT news, LOL. BTW, I didn't hear her or the kids in the background either Bone
He got a great deal....mine was VF20 PCI and it was more than that....I don't name the price for sure but it was over $700. Hopefuly his is slabbed.... I'm sure you will find a nice one soon....it took me sometime before I found the right one. Speedy
His is raw and he promptly popped it into his Whitman folder, LOL. He's a lot like me, a peculiar character when it comes to his coins. As kids we lived WAY out in the country and only had the coins from my dad's hardware store he brought home and let us go thru. Pennies, Nickels, and Dimes were what we built our collection out of and we often traded with each other. Back and Forth certain coins went as time passed. Bone
That is the reason it was cheaper.....I hope he gets it slabbed. Even if he doesn't want to sell it...it will be a help to who ever gets his collectors on down the road. Speedy
