    nickel error?help updated pics

i have had this nickel for some time and i been meaning to find out what kinda error it is but when i look at error coins i can seem to find any that look like this so could anyone tell me what error it is and if it worth anything

sorry for the picture its alittle blurry

it has an outer ring and when you compare it to a normal nickel the head side is smaller in circumfrence but the tails side is the same circumfrence tho and the head part has a major lip on the inside circumfrnece

My guess, from what you state and what I can barely see, is that perhaps it was one of the first ones struck that year and the guy/gal operating the minting press was trying to "zero" in on the proper pressure to use when creating the coins. Some coins you can find aren't hit hard enough leaving flat spots, or too hard creating the deep outer lips. I don't think they are worth much, just a kind of novelty coin still worth keeping though.

Kind of looks like it was encased in something. Maybe a piece of jewelry...

It looks very depressed inside the rim ? Certainly worth hanging on to. Like the other fuys said, they don't seem to fetch high prices on the marketplace. At least not worth selling. IMHO.

Great coin ! Wonderful conversation piece !

like gary said it has a depressed center with all the writing and what not and there is no machine marks on the innner rim and the outer rim is the same size as a nickel

i have had the nickel for about 9 years now
