    Hey Ya'll

As most of you know I've been working on a set of Proof Franklin halves...now the way I'm doing it is this way...
They MUST be PF66 or PF66CAMEO and they MUST be graded by eitehr PCGS/NGC/ANACS/ICG. with NGC being my favorite.

So what one would you pick if you were missing the 1955 and you find 2....they are both graded by NGC and they are both NICE.
One is a PF66 CAMEO and the other one is just PF66.

The prices that they have been going for on Heritage have been
    PF66CAMEO $75-$90
    PF66 $55-65

So what one would you pick and why??
Here is your set at this time...
1954 NGC PF66 (Might make CAMEO)
    1956 ICG PP66
    1957 NGC PF66
    1958 NGC PF66
    1959 NCG PF66
    1960 PCGS PF66
1961 NGC PF66 (This was about the hardest one to find)
1962 NGC PF66 CAMEO (The CAMEO is GREAT on this one)
1963 NGC PF66 CAMEO (The CAMEO is light)

    So you are missing the
    1950
    1951
    1952
    1953
    1955

I think this will be neat to see who picks what and why they pick that one...

I would get the Cameo one. Cameos will sell better than non-cameos if you ever decide to sell.

That is what I'm going for too.
Its not for that it will sell better but I like the looks of CAMEO---I wish I could do more of them in CAMEO but the price goes $$$$

Is your 1956 type 1 or type 2?

I think its TY2.....its not the rare one I know.
I've been thinking about getting the TY1 but haven't decided yet.
The one reason why I like the 1955 and before dates is that they have less mintage than the 1909S VDB and they are tons cheaper.

Isn't the 1955 the "Bugs Bunny" Franklin?

The "Bugs Bunny" Franklin is a business strike, not a proof.

Here are some more CAMEO and DCAMEO and UCAMEO to wet your whistle

    #1 is a 1962 NGC PF66CAMEO....
    #2 is a 1969-S NGC PF68UCAMEO
    #3 is a 1963 NGC PF66UCAMEO
#4 is a Proof Dime in a 2000 RED Proof set...if you look you can see President Roosevelt has red hair....it was because of a "bath" that the mint tried with the planchets that year.
#5 is also in a proof set....1982 but the CAMEO is Cool I think
I'll add one more in the next post

    Here is the last one...
    ANACS PF68HVYCAMEO!
IMO that is a great grade for a coin I paid $5 for a flea market.

Right now I'm trying my sister's pro-camera...she is a pro photographer and has a nice camera....I wouldn't mind buying one like hers but with that kind of money I could get another NICE 1909-S VDB

Speedy, you have a good eye for nice coins. At the prices you quoted at the beginning I think you should go for the cameo.

Well it sounds like everyone is agreeing....I'll let you know how it goes.
I've got a few auctions coming up so I might have to see what one I can miss without passing a good deal.

Well....I lost it....I bid over what the last PF66CAMEO went for but it went for more.
The last one that they had sold was $74....one before that was $79 (I think) and I went to over $85 and it went to $90+....
Oh well....wait till you see the 1953 PF66 I have my eye on.....maybe it will work out better.

Sometimes it works out for the best Speedy. I've been plenty bummed before because I lost a bid - but then later I found an even nicer example of the same coin and was glad I did lose the first one. You probably will be too ;)
