A few years back my wife was giving this package from the Korean war. This was sent to my wifes family after her reltive was killed in action. Along with other personal affects this curancy was among his belongings. Just wanted to share it with you as I dont see alot of this kind around.
I am sorry for your family's loss. Having lost an uncle in WWII and a nephew in Iraq, I know the sentimental value of these items outweighs their monetary value. The NOTICE is what makes this group. The notes themselves are relatively common. The notice from the Army Effects Bureau provides the provenance that this group came from someone who died during war. In 20+ years of collecting military related notes, this is only the second one of these forms that I have seen.
I can only imagine how many wifes, children and friends having nothing such as this to hold on to. Treasure this and pass on to future generations. Wonderful!
