I just won this tonight after having suffered a pretty long dry spell of losing bids with this seller who happens to be one of my best friends. It was worth the wait!

Nice coin. do I detect some textile (bag) toning on her cheek?

Heck of a colorful coin for a CC.

I wondered about that too, but I won't know for sure until I get it in hand.

That is some beautiful toning on that bad boy.

Is that one of Shane's coins? If so, his photos have gotten really good. Congrats on winning one. It seems to be going around, everyone is getting outbid lately.

    Yes it is, and thanks!

The problem you must deal with when bidding on toners is that Greysheet is no help at all. It isn't unusual for toners to sell for 5x-10x CDN Bid.

There is a rumor going around that rainbow toned Morgans are in short supply in the market these days. Perhaps now is a good time for me to sell my collection.

I don't know if they are in short supply or not, but they have been hot due to NGC & PCGS tightening up on what is and is not acceptable. Anything already slabbed is selling like hotcakes. What do you have?

Would anyone care to take a shot at grading this puppy?

Yeah I figured that would wake you up :D

The toning does a good job of hiding most of the mark and it's kinda hard to judge the quality of luster. But I'd guess they gave a 65.

Chris, great purchase. I am almost positive that is some textile on her cheek. Shane's pictures have improved by leaps and bounds with his new camera, they are now on par with the professionals.

I agree, and his work with axial lighting has helped him to reach that next level.

I'm pretty sure there is a little textile in there, too.

I agree with Doug, MS65. It looks like it's clean enough for a 66, but the weak strike will hold it to a 65 imo.

    Btw great Morgan!

Gee, Doug, according to another person on this forum, you don't know how to grade Morgans.

    That's right.........MS65!

I'll post my comments after a closer, in-hand inspection when I get it this week.
