Does that Civil War token pretty much look like that in hand?

Believe it or not, it looks even better! You can't see the glowing luster from the photo that it has in hand. Even Todd kept raving about how beautiful it was when he was photographing it - and he's not a copper fan!

Since I only recently began collecting Conder tokens, I really didn't want to get into another series like Civil War tokens but I just had to keep this one when I found it. It really is a stunning piece.

If that is all it is going to take then I will open up the flood gates. ;)
About coming to your defense, not once have I ever seen you do anything that was vendictive in any way and I dont like people that act like bullies from the other end of a computer. Especially to someone who is always so nice with a wealth of knowledge and not to mention some coins that are out of this world. :D

Nice coins charmy. You keep getting coins like that if Todd will have to be converted to a copper lover - or have his head examined. :)

I just caught this thread in a PM and have to say wow, those of you arguing the semantics of penny vs cent need to get a life. I have not read all 8 pages.

This site is about education and advancement of our hobby. I can attest to this, Charmy Harker is one of the most knowledgeble ( spelling ) folks out there as to copper and early American coinage. If you were to embrace her, rather than confront her, you might just learn something. I know I most certainly have.

As far as that goes, I have gained a friend, a poker partner and have a huge respect for her knowledge and experience. Dont mess with her, gain her respect and learn from her. The woman has alot we all can all learn !!!!

Charmy, I am in your corner bigtime, no pun intended :)

Note to self, keep an eye out for civil war tokens, that one is a stunner, the patriotism that bubbled up when the union was threatened is evident by its symbolism.

Of course there are some of us who believe that individual liberty took a beating in the War of Northern Aggression. The Yankees wanted the right to self govern and would not yield the same to the South. Now a single good thing (abolition) has become the tyranical Fed as a consequence.

Since I see there are a few Civil War token lovers, here are the only other two that I have in my collection. I was offered these little guys not that long ago, and as I mentioned, I really don't collect CWTs, but I couldn't resist these two since are really pretty, and since one has an Indian design and one has a Flying Eagle design , they sort of fit in with the rest of my Flying Eagle and Indian pennies.

One of the girls I was dating had dimes in her loafers, she told me her Dad put them in there so if she ever wanted to have him pick her up, for any reason, she'd have dimes to put into the pay phone...true story.

Edit: Oh yeah, nice pennies there Charmy
