My slabs are spent,,, I hope you've enjoyed these exercises. Only opportunity for continuation would be for someone to step up and and take the title of "Omnipotent grader",, then we could post some raw and let final judgement be offered by one of the below: Doug ? RLM's ? RAIDER ? DUKE ? .... any of ya'll up for the task ?
wooooooo, 4th place, all right. I mean I've only been studying grading seriously for about 5-6 years now.
Leadfoot...you did it!! Darn it You said you'd put the pressure on and I seemed to have folded. Congrates Raider and Lead!! And thanks again for the contest Bahabully!!
congrats Raider! I had a great time with this contest. looking forward to doing it again in the future...One great thing about this contest is it proves that a decent group of the regulars who respond to questions asked are pretty darn accurate with grading opinions..thanks again for the contest
I brought up the rear, but I am not too down about it, I have been interested in coins for about a year now, I seemed to do better by not using my photograde book, which was my first grading book, well actually my second one since I started by using my fathers old 1965 red book, I seemed to do better using the ana official grading standards book. That seems counterintuitive to me, that the book with pictures that are worse, and in black and white seemed to help my skills somewhat. I also think that another area where my inexperience showed was that I am totally unfamiliar with how the different grading companies define their grades, that they are consistent is evident in the more experienced graders knowing what those different tpgs look for.
Leadfoot that was a a strong charge at the end for second :thumb:. Congrats to everyone! And a very big thanks to Baha for all his hard work!
Great job raider, I should have kicked that out first, and thanks baha for providing some great pics of nice coins for our amusement.
Congratulations to all the participants, they really showed their expertice. That is why so many people come to CoinTalk for information. Well Done!
