that sounds like a nice idea... but unsure if Doug would play... he's said before that it's impossible to grade coins by pictures and appears to be principally opposed to the notion (although I firmly believe we have proven otherwise in these two exercises).

Anyway,, what'cha think Doug ? I could post an entire series of raw lincoln's to start a new raw cent thread,, and let you be the grader.. that way I could even play !! You be the official grader and take the heat, and I'll keep score if you'd like...

    Speak !

Now this is weird, I am usually under all the other grades people post, but on these... The 81s Morgan this for some reason is a coin I have seen in higher grades more often than most any other coin, why the 81s? I do not know, but I gave it an ms 67, the 25 merc I looked and looked at the area behind the wings, was it lack of luster, was it some spotty tone? I took it as tone and guess a ms-65, the 44 walker is another of those coins that I have seen many in high grades, I will guess it is a ms65, I think that sort of cross hatched toning comes from being handled with cotton fiber gloves. The 31d is stunning, I gave it a 67plus.

Going with 66 on all of them. I think the dime is FB's also, but not 100% because the middle band has what looks like a little hit(but it could be the holder or anything) on the right. The morgan looks really nice with clean fields. The penny I can't tell from the lighting if it is rd or not, but it is nice - a couple of non-distracting hits in the hair, but very nice. Nice batch of coins.

I think we all would have lost our shirts if we had actually bought the coins based on our grading from just the images.
Great contest and thanks for all your work.

Now that would be fun - someone could send doug some images, he gives his opinion on grade based off the images. Then we try to match dougs opinion. Might be a tad much work for him to do all the posting. Still not a bad idea.

..Round 16 recap:.... the final round.... final ranking thread upcoming.

Well,, it was a fitting ending, and can be expressed as the Raiders death blow to the group.... This dude "can" look at a picture and grade coins fella's........

    NGC grades:
1881S - MS67* < purty.. nicer in hand, as you may imagin.
    PCGS grades:
1925 - MS67 < no FB,, huh. Only 2 graded this high by pcgs with no FB. Also much nicer in hand,, lots of blue tone that looks like gray gunk in the pictures.
    NGC grades:
1944D - MS67 < like someone painted it,, literally.. beaut.
    1931D - MS65RB < outstanding details.. upgrade candidate imo.

Awards for this set of coins:
Best - Raider - .25 < who else... broke into the lead around turn two, and only accelerated from there.
    HA - Chip- 1.50 ;)
    Others:
    Bigjpst - 1.00
    Lehigh - 1.25
    RLM's - 1.00
    Leadfoot - .75
    Mark_h - 1.00
    BQcoins - 1.25
    Ldhair - .75
    Jallengomez - 1.25
    Badthad - .75
    Swish - 1.25
    Duke - 1.00

Final recap upcoming... Gotta warm up with a few beers first..............
Outstanding exercise folks,, everyone did very well given the limitations of grading by pictures.... kudo's.

Doug - R U ready to assume responsibility that comes with the title of "omnipotent moderator and grader" ?
If not, then I'd recommend with solicit RLM's as omnipotent grader for a RAW cent exercise given he's the reigning 'proven' best in class CENT grader in the forum....
After that we can go with Raider for a motley raw pot exercise...
.. again, depending upon Doug's willingness to play...
    So > speak your Doug'ness ?

    Bravo all !

Yeah,,, we either need more slabbed coins to post,,, or someone to step up to the omnipotent grader position so we could start to post raw...

... U wanna be official grader ? , your obviously good enough at it to at least keep the results reasonable.
