I just had to share some quick shots I took with my el cheapo celestrom microscope. Since I am going to start concentrating on RPM's I needed something for better macros and this microscope even without it's own light sources turned on seems to do pretty darned good.
El Cheapo - As long as it works for you, it's effective, and you're happy with the images... who cares! :thumb: Hey Kanga - Is this the model that you picked up? http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php?CatID=80&ProdID=448
Your pictures are nice.... did you think a slide scope would be more effective than a stereo scope? Here's something similar for I got for around $79.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/20X-50X-BINOCULAR-STEREO-MICROSCOPE-LED-LIGHT-/400011788113?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d228f7f51
The type of scope did not even enter my mind. I was actually not even considering anything over $100.00 due to the fact that I will be using it mostly for my own verification of what I suspect may be an RPM or some other such variety that my magnifying glass would not allow me to confirm. I did look at a digital camera with super-macro and was completely under-whelmed.
