The UK was split at the Polls last week. Will Coin talk followers be spilt up as well or is their a clear fravorite among the graders. Pick your favorite grader in the following poll.
I gave the nod to NGC because their customer service is the best. I like their forums, too. Someone can start a thread complaining about something NGC did, and guess what? They'll still be there the next day. Try that on CU and see what happens. Some people gripe that NGC coins don't sell for as much as PCGS coins. That's fine with me because I buy the coin not the slab. Chris
PCGS for obvious reasons!! Most of the time it will sell for more in there Holder, dont ask me about the science behind it, What it is, is what it is
I have both NGC and PCGS slabs but if given a forced choice would have to pick PCGS. Their grading seems more accurate/conservative to me. PCGS also does not give out MS70/PR70 as easily as NGC does. TC
I like NGC. I feel they are more consistent and I like the looks of their slabs. It does burn me sometimes when I sell a NGC slabbed coin and it fetches less than and equal PCGS, but its great when you are buying I guess.
TC, you must live in a galaxy that doesn't have Coin Vault. They sell just as many PCGS 70's as NGC 70's. Besides, unless you're just trying to keep up with the "Joneses of the Registries", it's pointless paying the premium for modern 70's. You'd get a much better deal buying the 69's. Chris
NGC, I think they have consistent grading and they're slabs are much easier to look at than PCGS slabs in my opinion, but I do think PCGS is a good grader too, but I like NGC better.
Chris: I do not buy slabbed modern coins (post-1964) and have never purchased a coin from Coin Vault. I do own ASEs but only raw bullion and proofs. I also do not have a registry set brewing. My observation was that whenever I look online, or in coin magazines, or at shows, or at several local dealers there seems to be much more in the way of NGC modern coins/bullion at MS70/PF70 than PCGS. I am not sure but am guessing that the populations might even back this up, but I may be wrong. I do not have access to that data nor care about it. Regardless, I still stand by MY preference of PCGS over NGC. BTW: Glad you are feeling better. TC
NGC for two reasons. Their new Edgeview holders let in so much light that you can really see the coin not to mention the.....edge. They also have the best customer service by far. If you have a problem simply contact them and they will get right on it, whether you submit 20 coins a year or 2000.
