Can you post a picture of this coin or perhaps list the specific legends ? The only Lei coins I know of are from Moldava or Romania. And while they have them in many denominations - they do not have them in 850 or 900 Lei

The Spanish word 'lei' means Law in English. This piece may be a medal perhaps commemorating Law 900 in 1935 that might have authorized this 25 gram piece. Does it appear to be gold? There were medallic gold bullion issues dated 1952 that were labeled as weighing 3-1/2, 7, 14, and 35 grs (gramos). No such pieces are documented for 1935. If you give a better description including all the writing on the coin then that may help.

This sounds like a silver coin,as .835 is a very odd silver fineness that was used in the Belgian silver 10 & 20 Francs of the late 1940's & early 1950's.

The .835 standard was the result of the 1865 Latin Monetary Union meeting in Paris.
