Dont wanna ruin anyones fun so SPOILER ALERT for the above post.... What I found (other then the star and cool serial) is that it was the first note in the October 02 run Very nice!
This is my most prized (valuable) note. The 1907 Ten Dollar Gold Certificate Some interesting facts ... The 1907 $10 series is about four times rarer than the similar 1922 series. Portrait is Michael Hillegas, U.S. Treasurer in the 1770's. In the 1890's Hillegas's descendents campaigned for his honoring on currency, and this bill was the result. Hillegas, was such an obscure historical figure, then as now, that he had to be identified in small print under his name "First Treasurer of the U.S.".
My 2nd most prized note The 1899 $2 Silver Certificate Some facts ... Washington is flanked by allegorical figures of Mechanics and Agriculture. Draping on allegorical figures is overprinted in blue ink.
My 2 Favorites... My collection is Russian notes, so these two are absolutely my favorite notes. First is an 1899 50 Roubles, and the other is a 1912 500 Roubles:
