Looked and looked can't find anything , the reverse is smooth but could have had something at one time
I would suggest that you redo your photo on a light background, then crop the picture to eliminate most of the background and effectively enlarge the image without exceeding the kb limits of the forum software. From what I can see I totally agree with rick, but perhaps a better look at the obverse might lead to a different conclusion.
Heres my 2 cents for what its worth. I am guessing it is a copy of a rare medal and on the back it most likely had copy so some one ground it down. I have seen medals not exactly like this one but close that say copy on the reverse. But as I said this is totally just a guess.
