1952 s Jefferson Nickel

Would you know what is the value of this coin?

 

the 2011 redbook has it at $1.00 in MS-60. If you found it in circulation I doubt it'll make that grade

 

Unfortunately, it's not worth much above face value, but it's still worth keeping.

 

Great coin for an album! Not easy to find in circulation any more.

 

Way to go JamKam...was it dark colored or light. Some of those older circulating Jefferson get some kinda crud that makes them rather dark.

congrats on your find. I have lots of those But I do search through boxes and boxes of nickels. In my mind the pre-60's nickels are starting to be similar to the wheat pennies in the sense that you can still find them in circulation, but they are getting more and more scarce. I typically find around 15-20 in a box of 2000.

Without pictures no one can give you an informed opinion of value based on it's condition, and many will not quote Red Book values either.

 

And these can be found in BU-CU condition for $.25-$.50 in most bargain bins.
