I got a collection of coins from my friend and I got this coin, I just want to know what coin it is, where was it from, and how much is it worth? If anyone can help I would be really grateful!
It is not a coin. It appears to be a jeton commemorating someone's birth, death or something like that, but the photo is too blurry for me to tell. The word NATUS refers to the date the person was born. Chris PS. I could probably find it in my reference book if I could make out what it says.
Can you get a clearer pic of it? or copy out what is written in the order that it is written. That way we might have some chance of decyphering what it is
These pictures are not any better but it might help and i can tell what the back says (the front is to random for me to write) It says.... Natvs 13 jan 1634 electin coadtrev jan 1672 in epis spir 16 ivly 1675 svccessit in elect 1676 1 ivny obyt 1711:6: ian
Good to hear, most run here and post a 'what is it?' thread without doing the simplest leg work. Now we need some focused pics. :thumb:
Yea haha The reason I sighned up of because after spending long hours on the computer looking up coins that seemed to be endless I thought it was time to get some other people involved. And yes im soon getting a MUCH better camera to help me out
It appears to be a death medal. Born (NATUS) - Jan 13, 1634 Died (OBYT) - Jan 6, 1711 If you would copy the print on the other side beginning at the top and to the right of the crown in a clockwise order, then repeat this for the innermost line of writing, I might be able to decipher it for you. Chris
