Please let us know what you find out. I am most interested in hearing the results. On one hand I can see where these could be a "fake" coin due to pitting. However could pitting be do to erosion of being in the soil?

    Sorry,

I should have been more educationnal.
Those coins show everywhere signs of casting (many bubbles) and soft details, on too round flans. They cannot be struck coins.
They are so similar to the numerous tourist fakes offered in many cities (from Turquey to Israel, and from Tunisia to Morrocco) that there is not one chance in the universe they might be genuine.

I'm glad Abarham27 has money to spend for an authentication service

i'd have to agree, they look fake. they almost appear to be cast, not struck. is it me, or are they almost perfectly round? especially the 3rd coin...

It is hard to not get angry when all of us purchased fakes, especially when we were new to numismatics and even veterans can make mistakes, I also believe these to be fake and with out value for the same reasons that have been already stated, all of which are 100% accurate. You should listen to the wisdom of the people of this forum instead of being angry at them for giving you the knowledge that you came here for. Instead if you must be angry show it to the person whom scammed you and by the depth of your anger I can imagine that person tricked you out of a lot of money.
