In line with the Thread Post your "Oldest US Note" I thought I would start this one on your most prized Note...yes it can be more than one so let's say your top 2 notes.. Here are mine.. RB
Love your notes, RickieB! I have some older Canadian and world notes, but the one's that I get the biggest thrill out of are the errors I pull from circulation. I have several but this one is my fave. It's a 3 digit mismatched serial number I found a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't really compare in design beauty to the old notes, but in it's own category, it's my favorite from my collection.
I have several !! but here are few with populations of less then 3 !! The Series 681 $20 is a one and only in PCGS!!
Good to see you here, Rickie! Here are two of my favorites, I'll avoid my "usual" Flameng note This note from French Indochina is just wonderful, and I can't flip through my collection without stopping to check it out. And this one from Djibouti, overprinted by the Free French. I like this one for a couple reasons... it was the subject of one of the Security Engraver's presentations and therefore has fond memories from when I was studying the note, and the condition on this note is better than any I've ever seen. Ever. It's quite rare. Dave
Beautiful French Indochina notes, DaveM! I just bought a couple of French Indochina notes myself along with some war-time French bills. I can't wait for them to arrive!
I too agree, exceptional Notes Dave. Stunning would be a better choice of words in this case. Thank you my friend for sharing these with us. MPCUSA... I have the honor to know the recipient of the PCGS Award for MPC's 2 years running...what a Great collection he has. I can say without doubt that your collection is getting right up there along side of his. Congrats to you my friend. RB
Great notes all of you!! And Urban!! Whoa I didn't know you had that one. Nice note for the District Collection for sure! I'm along way's from picking up my KC not in that type but then again I said I'd wait on $50's and I just got a consect set
Oh poo...I didn't think about the Franklin's having a District on them. But I've always wanted one of them so off to find a J I go
Great notes Steve! Love them all Guys! Some of you have come across amazing pieces that are so inspiring to me. I'm really glad to be able to see them. Here's mine. One of my oldest and most prized as it's an heirloom from the family. Series 1917 $2:
