Can anyone tell me anything about this coin as a grade? anything unique about about this coin. PCGS shows many variations for that year... 1921 Chapman, 1921 Zerbe... Thanks ahead of time for your answers... Eve
Chapman and Zerbe refer to the 1921 proof Morgans. Your coin is the normal 1921-S business strike, grade wise I would say it's an AU58.
This picture pcgs.com of a 1921-S Morgan says is a MS66. What makes this one a MS66 and mine a AU55-58? What should I be looking at to make sure my next purchase is more like a MS66? Thanks again for your replies... Eve
Now that's a coin There's alot to look at and until you know it back and forth I'd look at buying only NGC or PCGS certified coins. On this coin look at the hair right above the ear and the breast of the eagle. Both have the details rubbed off and make it not an UNC.
