I guess you got a fill-in-the-blank coin. Whether you're rich or not depends on what number you decide to put in.

 

If there is no VDB, it is a 1909-S, and worth $100 in Good (Redbook price.)
And, if it has a VDB on the back, $750 in Good (Redbook again.)

how are you so sure that it's a 1909s?, why cant it be a 49s?

 

Because the VDB was reinstated on the shoulder in 1918 and has been there every year since - except when it gets grease filled or similar.

 

Why would someone give it to me as a bonus coin?
