Stumbled upon this on ebay. If I had that kind of scratch, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. http://cgi.ebay.com/1897-50c-NGC-PF...ryZ11971QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

"anaconda.rare.coins" are known for only the best and high grade and rare coins. I hear that the owner is a great guy and at shows lets people look at hold the coins even though most of the people won't have that much money. I have looked at his items many many times but I've come to the place where it wasn't helping....when I go and but a nice G Barber....it kindof makes me thing back to the PF69CAMEO* that he had................... Speedy
I'll have to agree with Anaconda being a really friendly dealer. They were here in the Illinois area for a coin show not long ago and were talkative, friendly, had extensive high value coins, decent prices, etc. And even though I told the guy most of their items are above my price range, they still stayed friendly. Noticed they were from Texas and had to kid them that I drove a whole 5 miles to get to the show and that wore me out. I like checking out thier web site and dream a little about some of their great items.
I cannot believe that there are coins with those high values... is just too much! Not fair at all since I cannot afford them...
Yeah, I'm not sure what my limit is for spending on a single coin, but whatever it is, $85,000 is well beyond it.
BTW guys....they do have some cheaper coins too.... http://cgi.ebay.com/1881-S-1-NGC-MS...342560171QQcategoryZ39465QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem That is the cheapest one they have right now.....I know its not TOO cheap but if I saved a few weeks I could bid...maybe! Now that my season for Mowing grass is over buying is going to slow down! Speedy
Keep it up buddy, your doing the right thing now. Your time will come soon enough, and when it does you'll be buying, selling, and trading all over the place Bone
I love looking at their listings. I would like to see them in person. It's amazing that coins that old can still have such amazing frost and mirrors.
Some of their coins belong in museums! What stunning examples. It makes you appreciate the beauty of Barber coinage.
If they were in museums - they wouldn't look like that. Most museum curators routinely clean the coins they have in their care
