When I bought this coin it was in the 2x2 and it looked really pretty. But now that I broke it out and photographed it I am uncertain as to whether it is VF or XF. It does still possess some of its mint luster around the devices and there is just the slightest hint of toning beginning. I am going to be adding this coin to a lot for auction and I don't know it's starting value.

    Outcast , you rock !!

Those are exactly what I was looking for , so I do not have to keep bugging people here on CT with my grading questions.

    Thank You !!!

The date of the original coin looks oddly strong against the rest of the strike and wear pattern. Maybe it's just my eye or the photo.

That said, I can't see any luster, so I'd be more in the VF than XF camp.

The date does look strong compared to the rest and the color is all off in the photos. The webcam that I used to photograph it is pretty good at macros but the auto-white balance prevents me from capturing the correct colors and luster.

Thanks for the added perspective !

i agree with leadfoot. that date stamp looks crazy strong compared to the rest of the coin. its just weird because that is the part of the coin that wears away real fast.

interesting the coin turned out like that!

    AU? Lol
look at the horn and how it's mushy on one end. It's around a 30.

Here are some more pictures shot with the auto-white balance feature turned off. Tell me if you would still grade it as a VG-30 please ?
