I'd like to buy about 500-1000 2x2s at a time, preferably in a mixed lot where I can choose how many of each size to include. My LCS has the best prices but sometimes I can't go there and need them now and I turn to eBay, but I'm wondering if anyone has a site that doesn't pay eBay's fees and maybe has them a little cheaper?
Yup. Any time I ever need any coin supply, or most books as well, I use Wizard. https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/products/coin-flips/
I like JP's Corner. Quality stuff and fair prices. Flat shipping rate on orders over $50 and fast shipping. I once made the mistake of ordering from a third-party vendor on Amazon and the 2x2's were absolute garbage. Here's a link to JP's Corner: https://www.jpscorner.com/ Here are 2x2s: https://www.jpscorner.com/search?type=product&q=2x2 cardboard holders*
I like Wizard Coin Supply also. Their prices have gone way up though. I buy 2X2's by the 3,000 in a box. Went from $49.95-$69.95. They have a flat rate shipping of $9.95.
Haha, you guys are buying a heckuva lot more flips than me I usually get a couple hundred at a time, and they last me for ages. And yes, I absolutely agree - make sure you're getting a reputable brand and good quality.
I've definitely had different quality depending on which ones I get, but it's hard to know which ones are the bad ones until you get them.
Except for the largest coins, I use 1 1/2 X 1 1/2's so you get 30 to a page. I use them up the Canada large cents, or a little smaller than a US 50 cent. I always got mine from Brooklyn Coin and Stamp, not Ebay if you live in the US.
It's an interesting idea but I'd have to start over with new pages and holders and I'm already pretty invested in what I have.
They're not the cheapest but if you need some fast and have a Barnes & Noble nearby they sell 2x2s made by Whitman Publishing.
