Another seated quarter. Raw guess the grade

Got this little gem at CSNS last week. she's at NGC right now here are the seller's pics. what do you think she'll come back as?

It may or may not be cleaned. It has obviously been dipped and appears to have AU details, but what might be schmutz on and around stars one and two is quite concerning to me. However, the lighting used for the images also looks to be quite harsh and might have been direct sunlight, which can make coins look hairlined to all heck and back when in reality they are not.

 

And what is on the right side underneath the wing? To me this looks like a scan and not a photo.

 

I am usually not a fan of moderns, but I have a slight infatuation with seated material from the 1830's....I agree w/ TomB, the sellers photos are not flattering and I don't think it has been "harshly" cleaned.

 

I have to say that I have been warming up to the seated coins. I just got a half dime myself which I will be posting soon. I think your quarter is very nice. It may have been cleaned but if I ever get that old I'll be cleaned too.

I would say possible low AU?.

 

I think it will come back 62, and we are misinterpreting the photos. Call me an optimist or an overgrader if you will....Mike

 

i am new to this but i will say 50-55. hoping the pictures are just bad, and it is not cleaned.

 

Unfortunatly, it has enviromental damage, because of the wrong cleaning procedure.

 

News just came in. AU55 details. Obv Improp. I think it has old cleaning that is not harmful to the coin. either way i still love it so whats it matter?

 

it came back 55? that was my first guess!

 

Nothing the matter if you like the coin. I have a few seated coins that have been cleaned like that and still like them. I'm a fan of the seated design.
