Want to win a Mercuy Dime? Ok, here's what were going to do.

I'm going to buy a Mercuy Dime at over this weekend. Either picking from random from a lot I glean or just sticking my hand on a bargin bin jar and taking whatever comes up in hand.

Closest to the year wins it.

    Rules:

(If needed) Tiebreaker #1: The Mint Mark. Give a Mint Mark with the year you pick.
(If needed) Tiebreaker #2: How much was paid for it? Closer to the price paid wins the tie break.

One entry per ID only. Contest will close Sunday 11:59pm EST. Have fun. We'll see if this contest turns out eeeeexxxxxcccccellent.

Probably not going to be a 1916-D...

I'll guess a 1919-S in VF for about $20.

    Good luck!

Hmmm...now if memory serves me correctly, I remember a certain half dollar collector teasing a dime collector for going into Franklin Halves. Funny how this same half collector decided to go and buy a Merc (or two?) Welcome to the dark side. (just joking with you).

Now, as for the guess, I'll place the safe bet of 1944 P for a grand price of $1.75. Thanks so much for the contest.

Sorry if I sour the thread, it is not my intention - but imagine a good eye during the March of Dimes campaign? I wonder how many spectacular dimes were put "undercover" at that time. Just a thought...
