Does not get much better than that I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how many Reverse proof Silver eagle PCGS has certified in a 70 grade compared to a 69 grade. 2008-W PROOF w/rev/2007 My next question if I can get an answer from my previous question is... would this be a good investment to purchase the 2008-W DCAM w/rev 2007 for my grand children. Would it be likely that the prices would go up on the 2008-W PROOF w/rev/2007?
The reverse of 2007 silver eagles are not proofs, they are uncirculated MS69 or MS70 not PR69/PR70. So the answer is 0
2008-W PROOF w/rev 2007 I am new and not sure the picture uploaded and worked so you can see it. Is this considered a 2008-W Proof with the reverse 2007... U and not the U with the extra curl at the bottom that was changed for the rest of the run... after the 47,000? So this coin is not worth anymore than a MS69 normal Proof coin?
The coin pictured above is a regular 2008 proof coin. The 2008-W with reverse of 2007 silver eagles are not proofs, proofs have mirror like surface such as coin pictured above. We agree the picture is a proof coin. I thought that is what reverse die type of 2007 meant was the 2008 coins had the same back as the 2007 coins. My proof coin above pictured also has that bowl-shaped U. So I was thinking that maybe my coin got slabbed and labeled before the designation REVERSE OF 2007 was applicable during the course of grading.
I am not even aware of any proof 2008 silver eagle with reverse of 2007. Not sure if you have a really rare coin.
The NGC article refered to uncirculated silver eagles, and there are about 47000 of them, your coin is a proof. As far as I know you have the only one found so far. Congratulations!
Old thread but new topic. I have never heard of a 2008 PROOF ASE having the reverse of 2007 (only the W burnished versions). When the W burnished errors hit there were some rumors that perhaps the bullion coins may have been impacted but not the proofs. You may have something here. However, this may also mean that that 2008 reverse 2007 ASEs are more common than once thought. :eating: TC

2008 Coin Rev 07 - bad listing on ebay I rec'd my 2008 proof coin and even though the listing specifically stated I would get the back of the coin pictured/shown...
